Bringing public transportation into our community

The Carmel transportation party

About Us

We are an organization trying to bring resilient transit into Carmel Indiana

We see that Carmel is a car-dependent city and that needs to change! Public transportation provides an alternative to this dependency that can make people’s lives healthier and reduce car traffic. It also gives people the freedom to choose how they get around our city, whether that be by bike, car, or bus!

The CTP also provides analysis of where gaps are in our pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure network.

Lastly, we are pushing for new urban planning practices too. American urban planning is inherently flawed and in order for our cities to be successful this needs to change.

Some projects that we've been working on!

Projects

IndyGo’s redline is Carmel and Hamilton county’s first step to being better connected with Indianapolis. Providing transit will benefit the workforces of both cities.

The Monon trail only provides travel north and south through Carmel. Extending this key trail east and west would increase the city’s bike connectivity tenfold, even if it’s extended by 1 mile.

Transit works best with a full integrated system. We are working on finding out what the best routes would be if the City of Carmel adopted a local bus network.
